Prepare the Chicken
- Place the chicken in a large pot and cover with water.
- Add onion, curry powder, thyme, bouillon cubes, and salt.
- Cook until the chicken is fully cooked.
- Remove the chicken and strain the broth.
Cook the Rice
- Rinse the rice.
- Cook it in the chicken stock until tender
- Allow it to cool.
Fry the Vegetables
- Heat the oil.
- Cook the onions and vegetables.
- Season lightly.
Combine
- Add the rice.
- Mix gently.
- Add butter and optional proteins.
- Cook another 4–5 minutes.
Notes
Tips
- Use parboiled rice.
- Don't overcook the vegetables.
- Chicken stock makes all the difference.
- Cool the rice before frying.
- Golden Sella Basmati works wonderfully.
